Who I Am

I am 27 years old and live in South Jersey  with my husband Sam, my baby boy Richard, and my dog Bruiser. Sam and I have been together since our senior year in high school. We dated for 8 years and recently got married in February 2009  (Valentines Day to be exact). We adopted our furry baby from a shelter in April of 2008. He is a German Shepard and Grey Hound mix. He is so smart and can open locked doors and closed doors and at first we thought we were getting burglarized.

I have my teaching certificate, but have not found a teaching job.  For the past 6 years in the summer I  worked with a great group of people who are the most hated in the town. I was a PVO (Parking Violations Officer) or if you want to be a dick about it a meter maid. There are no meters in this town so that is why we don’t say meter maids. Now I am working at my chiropractors office helping his wife organize files and put patients into the computer system. I had to find a new job since I am now pregnant I was not able to walk around and work in the heat. I enjoy working with the people and of course Terri and Dr. Dave.

I started this blog because I was looking to make a lifestyle change. I wanted to become a more healthy eater as well as to lose A LOT of weight. I joined a gym in January and was training with a trainer 2-3 days a week. I am really excited to be starting this new journey in my life. When I started this blog last summer I never thought that my Journey would change so drastically now that I am pregnant. Instead of losing weight I am now gaining weight and I am focused on eating healthy and maintaining my cardio and light weight workouts on my own. It is a little harder to train without a trainer because you do not have that person making you go, telling you what to do, and pushing you. I am lucky to have joined such a small gym with great people. I am always being watched and helped even when I am working on my own.

Motherhood is amazing and not as hard as people make it out to be. People told me to get ready for sleepless nights and crying non stop. We have been the luckiest parents on earth because our boy starting at a month old sleeps through the night and doesn’t ever cry uncontrollably. Yes, he does fuss when he is hungry, but that is my cue to change him and then feed him. It is just too easy!!
