I’m still ALIVE

It has been a really long time since I have updated my blog. I have been extremely tired lately and a little nervous. I went to get blood work last week and an ultrasound of my Thyroid. The lady who did the ultrasound kept mentioning nogules.  They are not supposed to say anything, but when I asked she said the Dr. will check everything, but she kept going back and mentioning nogules. I am going to my Dr. on Thursday because he needs to see me. The results are in and I have to wait to see him to find out. Guess I am just a little nervous. My aunt needed surgery because she had some nogils on her Thyroid and they didn’t know if it was cancerous at all so they took some of her Thyroid out. My dad has Thyroid problems and is on medication for it. I hope they figure out what is wrong QUICKLY! Keep you updated!

I guess I will fill you in with some of my holiday happenings.

Thanksgiving:

Sam and I spent our first Thanksgiving together. We have been married for almost a year and dated for 8 years before that and this year was our first year that we spent Turkey day together. WOW!

We traveled to my cousins house in PA to be with my family this year and I was in charge of bringing the stuffing and a cheesecake. I decided I would make my first Turkey EVER to make the stuffing. I was proud of myself, but what a long crazy night it turned out to be.

Me and My First Turkey!!!

Only cost me $4.18

SO I STARTED MAKING THE STUFFING

So I put the stuffed bird into the oven and started cooking it at 325 degrees for 4 hours. I tested the temperature and everything looked good. I took it out to cool and started making the cheesecake. I put the 2 cheesecakes into the oven and started slicing my bird. When I took the stuffing out I noticed at the bottom that it was still bloody. OMG! So I had to wait another hour for the cheesecakes to finish cooking and I put the bird back in for another 2 hours. I saved the stuffing that was towards the top of the bird and was safe to eat. I ended up on cutting the white meat off the turkey and trashing the rest. It was about 1AM and I was so exhausted. I didn’t even save the wish bone.

The turkey is delicious and I am loving all my turkey sandwiches. Next time it will be MUCH BETTER!!!!

Last night we drove to Cape May with Sam’s family for his dads Birthday! We went to a restaurant called the Ebbitt Room in The Virginia Hotel, It was out of this world!!!!I wish I had pictures because not only was the food so amazingly good, but it was beautiful too.

Weekend Recap

Giveaway Update:

I told you I would post the winner on Sunday (Today), however no one I guess was in  the mood for some great V8 Soup from Campbell’s. No one entered my first giveaway so maybe I will wait till after the Holidays. 😦

Yesterday I woke up with a headache so I wore this really cool helmet thing that David and Terri (chiropractor) got for Sam since he gets a lot of migraines. It looks crazy, but it feels so amazing and I am not ashamed. I can’t get a picture of Sam wearing it…YET!!

RiteTemp which promotes faster healing and reduces pain without the negative side effects such as frostbite and messy condensation like from gels and ice. RiteTemp has ground breaking proprietary Heat Transfer Formula technology readily in use by military forces. RiteTemp utilizes safe, non-toxic materials in a variety of anatomic shapes and sizes for specific therapeutic, medical, health, and rehabilitative applications.

RiteTemp products may be applied directly to the affected area indefinitely without fear of frostbite, quite different than the health risks of 15 to 20 minutes stated with most ice/gel products.

Using RiteTemp

All you have to do is lay the product as flat as possible in the refrigerator (or freezer) for 30 minutes. Once charged the the chemical will turn from clear liquid to solid white.

You can store the product (in our case the helmet) in the refrigerator for several months or years without harming the UniPak containing the Heat Transfer Formula. The UniPak is comprised of a medical-grade polymer which will not absorb bacteria, microbes, grime, water.

Retirement Party

Saturday night Sam and I headed to West Chester for my Uncle’s Retirement Party. He retired about a week after my wedding (last February) but they just had the party yesterday.  I had a great time with family and my uncle’s friends. My cousins threw the surprise party for him and it went off really well. Of course I forgot my camera so maybe I will get some pictures from my family soon. After the party we went over to Rick and Laura’s (friends of my cousins) and hung out for a while. We didn’t get home till late since we had to drive about 2 hours home. Had a great night!!!

NEW MOON

I took my mom out today to see New Moon and it was AMAZING!!! As I read the book I cried the whole time non stop. As soon as Edward took Bella into the woods I started crying. I am soooo emotional. I would definately go see it again. The acting was 100X better in this movie than in Twilight. Also, I have to say I was always Team Edward, but this movie made me convert to Team Jacob. Jacob was super hot in this movie and I now feel like a pet-o-file because he is like 17…WOW…I feel so OLD right now.

What I Call Home

Don’t forget about my V8 Soup GIVEAWAY!!!

I came home from work today and was relieved to see that the cleaning people had come today. I was overwhelmed by the fresh clean smell and a very happy little boy. So we jumped in the car and headed to the dog park. It was in the mid 50’s and sunny and felt really good to be outside.

He waited for a buddy to come along and play with him, but no one showed.

I was a little chilly

Still waiting for a friend

I thought I would take a couple pictures of our house to share with everyone and see what you think. Something different for a change. I took pictures of the master bedroom and bath and the guest bathroom. To keep you in suspense stay tuned for the rest of the house.

GUEST BATHROOM

This is the second floor guest bathroom and my mother-in-law bought these towels for my husband when he first moved in and she had never seen the bathroom before.

I love the tile on the wall. What do you think of it?

MASTER BEDROOM

It is a little cluttered right now, but this is the most relaxing place in the house. We need to put pictures or something on the walls and need curtains because the sun is so bright in the morning. Have any good ideas??? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

MASTER BATHROOM

I love this bathroom I just wish it had 2 sinks. If you look in the shower we have a rain head which is out of this world and I highly recommend. We have three wall sprayers and a handheld spray nozzle which is great for washing the dog. I need to find a painting or something to go over the toilet. We have high ceilings and it looks very bare. Any suggestions on good paintings let me know????

Giveaway!!!!

MY FIRST GIVEAWAY!!!!

But, first today Sam and I went to Philly to visit Ikea and get shelves for our movie/Eagles room. We got 3 book cases for books and DVD’s. I can’t wait to put them together and organize the DVD’s in ABC order (I’m and little OCD about that). While at Ikea Sam reminded me that when we were watching Parking Wars in the background you could see Ikea. So I was on a mission to find it. As we drove in we looked all around and then got busy looking for a space to park, so no luck. As we were walking in I looked over to check for cars and BAM there it was! It was beautiful! If you have never seen Parking Wars it is a TV show about parking officers in Philly who write tickets, boot cars, and have them toed. This is what I do in the summer and I wish I could boot too. This show is AMAZING!

When we ate lunch Sam made sure I had a beautiful view of the PPA

Ikea was definitely worth the trip and just what I needed it got us out of the house, spent quality time with each other alone, and saw the PPA building. If you don’t know this is where all the pissed off people come to get there cars after they have been towed.

Friday the 13th!!!

WHAT A CRAZY DAY!!!!

I have a lot to talk about so I will start from the beginning of the day. I woke up to more wind trying to blow my house down and a flood outside me house. This wasn’t too bad, but still could not get out and was forced to be an hour late to work.

My street looking towards the bay...not bad

My car was safe in the driveway

This morning Sam told me he was going to walk around the block and check things out. I was like are you crazy what are you going to wear? He told me he was going to wear his water shoes and I laughed. I don’t think so. I have had to run through FREEZING cold flood water many times and it is not fun. I mean it is FREEZING even in the summer. My mom and I used to have boots that came to our knees that were my grandpops and we would wear those and walk through the water. It’s a skill!

This does not compare to anything I grew up with though. I lived on a small island in Ocean City and every time we got a storm we were flooded in for days. We couldn’t flush the toilets, take showers, and were surrounded by water. The water would come into our garage and sometimes into our house near the garage. It was a skill that we learned quit well how to maneuver the cars and park them on higher ground and to put everything from the garage into the house or up high.

Our neighbors during one storm canoed across our front lawn and I desperately wanted to go, but was not allowed. Now that I look back it was very dangerous because the bay was right across the street and your could be easily swept out. The water would poor through or above the bulkheads. So many times we were flooded in and let me tell you it is not fun. You may think oh cool a day home from school or work, but there is something about it that makes it really boring.

This is infront of my moms house today. You can barley see the three ducks swimming in the water. So proud of my mom who figured out how to use her camera phone and send it as a text.

CRAZY CRAZY KIDS!!!!

The kids today at school were bouncing of the walls like ping pong balls. I finally made it into work an hour late around 10 AM and something told me within the first 10 minutes I should have stayed home. They were wild and crazy today. Partially because the weather and they have not been outside to play in the past 3 or 4 days.

We made it through the day with a lot of noise, fights, whinning, crying, and a ton of BRIBING.

Also, I got my Kindergarten picture today!1113091822
