Back In the Swing

WOW! What a great morning I had today. I went to kettlebells at 7:30 AM today and what a great workout. I really enjoy going on Saturday mornings because I get the both of best trainers. Kori and Michelle team up and do a killer training/ workout session. We did these ab things (I forget what she called them) which I tried to find online and this is the closest thing to it that I could find abs

Rectus Abdominus: V Rock and Roll

  • Lie faceup on mat with legs together, toes pointed and arms extended overhead by ears, hands stacked (like you’re about to dive into a pool).
  • Engage abs and lift both legs and shoulders about 6 inches off ground, slowly rocking body back and forth.

I stayed for Vinyasa+ with Melissa and had a GREAT time. I was pretty tired and sweaty since doing both back to back. I am feeling pretty good about myself because I tried CROW POSE for the first time and I LOVED IT. I am not good, but I was able to do it and hold it for 10 seconds each time. YAYYYY!!

crow pose

This is me doing it at home after the thousandth try because my camera sucks and demanding that Sam take my picture. Yes, my feet are off the floor. Not great, but so proud of myself!

This picture reminds me of:

I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can’t deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough
‘Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she’s wearing
I’m hooked and I can’t stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get with you
And take your picture

Yep! That’s right Baby got back.

So I had a great start to a great day and at the end of yoga Melissa read something that almost made me cry.

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots , each hung on the ends of a pole , which she carried across her neck. One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water , at the end of the long walk from the stream to the house , the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily , with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course , the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection , and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure , it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. “I am ashamed of myself , because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.”

The old woman smiled , “Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path , but not on the other pot’s side?” “That’s because I have always known about your flaw , so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path , and every day while we walk back , you water them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are , there would not be this beauty to grace the house.”

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it’s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You’ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

Made me almost cry I am very emotional!

Great story right?? Did you cry??? What do you do that is wonderful to start your day?

Holy shit that is the pose mary and tina were showing us before we left for the summer. Look at you little Ms. Hardcore Yoga lady now. One of the teachers I work with is an instructor (I’m thinking about hitting a few classes in the off season), I don’t know where though.

Definitely come to Margate. Everyone is super nice and it is a lot of fun and most of the classes don’t have a lot of people in them so it is like a small group or ono on one instruction. Yeah that pose is a lot of fun actually and I had Sam try it, but he couldn’t do it.
